Welcome to Discovery Academy. As the Principal of the Academy I hope you will find the information on the website useful in helping you and your child find out more about us. If your child is due to join us we hope that this information will help you to settle them in and become part of our community.

I believe that learning should be of the highest quality for every child, in every lesson, every day. Our Academy values of Discovering, Inspiring, Caring, Improving and Achieving sit at the heart of everything that we do. Children learn best when they are happy, safe and are enjoying their time at school and we aim to achieve this for all of our children all of the time. Our Academy has excellent facilities in a brand new building including a wealth of IT and sporting resources and we work hard to ensure that your child will receive a varied and engaging range of experiences during their time with us.

It is our mission to provide an educational journey and experience that is second to none, to be a beacon in our communities and to leave our children and families with the lasting impact of a fulfilled potential and a lifelong love of learning. In providing excellent educational services we aim to become the school of choice in our local area and provide a place where children can thrive educationally and personally day after day.

Vision

We believe in aspiration for all. This means nurturing, supporting and developing every aspect of every single child in our care. We want to create a world where the sky is the limit for all of our pupils; building pathways for all and focusing on personal and academic success and eventually progress to successful employment.

We have a wonderfully supportive ethos at Discovery Academy which ensures that our pupils are well behaved, hardworking, friendly and kind. All characteristics that we believe make for happy and successful children. Our values are:

We have a commitment to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and/or young people. We have robust processes and procedures to reduce risk and continuously promote a positive culture of safeguarding amongst our workforce. The roles across our schools involve working with children and/or young people and are subject to our Safer Recruitment Process. We do not accept CV’s, all applicants should complete a Trust Application Form and include on this the details of two referees who, if you are shortlisted will be contacted for a reference. Social media checks will be carried out for roles across our Trust. All posts require an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). We may close the job advert for roles within our Trust as soon as sufficient applications have been received so please apply for advertised roles as soon as you are able.
